Nintendo has released its new, third generation DSi Handheld Game Console – and it seems destined to make a huge impact on the portable consoles market!

Following on from the DS Lite, some of the new features of the Nintendo DSi Handheld Game Console include larger 3.25″ LCD displays (in a body which is 12 percent thinner), two cameras (one external 3-megapixel camera and a front-facing camera situated on the hinge), and the Nintendo DSi Sound application – which has the dual function of being an interactive voice recorder and a music player.

The Nintendo DSi Handheld Game Console looks set to lay down new standards in portable gaming, and will be the platform for all of the most up-to-the minute games and applications. Nevertheless, the DSi will allow backward compatibility with Nintendo DS games – with over 850 titles already in existence for that system.

Features:

• Two motion-detecting cameras
• Take shots using a range of 11 special camera effects
• Save content onto an SD memory card, upload to your PC or Wii and share with friends and family using WiiConnect24

• Apply effects to sound files that are played on the console
• Download DSiWare and customise your Nintendo DSi with games and applications from the DSi Shop
