The idea of playing games for fun using a board can be traced all the way back to ancient Egypt. While some of the older classics still endure today – like noughts and crosses, Monopoly or chess – in recent years there has been a huge surge in the popularity of independent board games off the beaten track.

The result is that board games have now developed their own culture, where fans try different games from all over the world, as a big part of their social scene.

No two days are the same at Toy Planet, and that’s certainly the case when it comes to our stock of board games. We’re always on the lookout for new games that offer something new and stimulate your curiosity, so it’s always worth checking with us regularly to see what we have available.

Alongside original retro 80’s favourites like Dark Tower, CrossBows and Catapults, and Build a Better Burger, we always stock some of our old card and board game favourites, like Dobble, Uno and Top Trumps.
